Daniil Kvyat says his duel with Red Bulls Max Verstappen during Sundays Singapore Grand Prix has boosted his confidence and left him feeling pretty good. The Russian scored his first points since Julys British Grand Prix thanks to a ninth place finish in Singapore, after an intense wheel-to-wheel battle with Verstappen -- who took Kvyats seat at Red Bull ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix. Kvyat defended firmly against Verstappen and successfully kept the Ducthman behind on a couple of occasions, before Vertsappen eventually got by with a lunge at Turn 20 at a later stage of the race.Kvyat has cut a dejected figure in recent races after a difficult spell following his demotion back to Toro Rosso, but says his performance in Singapore has re-instilled his self-belief and passion for racing in Formula One.I was fighting and I think I did a good job. Its good you know -- he had the faster car, but I kept him behind for two stints, which makes me think Im pretty good! The racing over this past month has been a big test of my passion but Im loving it again so thats mega. I pushed to the very last centimetre and left myself on the track. It was a very enjoyable race -- not that enjoyable behind Perez at the end as we didnt have the straight-line speed to overtake. I was pushing but without any gains. It was a shame but Im very happy overall. The Marina Bay Street Circuit was predicted to be Toro Rossos best chance of a points finish out of the remaining races of 2016 and although Kvyat believes the team could have profited even more from a riskier strategy, he remains positive heading to Malaysia in a fortnights time.We knew we could do a very good race here so we were pushing very hard and it was very enjoyable. It was shame we didnt risk enough with the strategy but thats the only complaint I have about it.There are more straights, which are a pain for us, so well try and take the most out of it and I believe we can still do a good job because I believe in us. I feel I have my confidence back and with that I feel we can do good things. Derek Carr Youth Jersey . -- Bobby Ryan helped the U. The Englishman inherited a demoralised squad after Rangers promotion bid crumbled 12 months ago but he has quickly turned the clubs fortunes around and helped them clinch the Championship crown last week. The Gers won the Petrofac Training Cup on Sunday and head into this weekends William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final with Celtic on a high - a game you can watch live on Sky Sports 2 HD from 11.00am on Sunday. Souness is credited with revitalising Rangers when he took over as player/manager in 1986.The former Liverpool midfielder helped attract big-name signings from England such as Terry Butcher, Graham Roberts and Chris Woods, and laid the foundations for the nine successive titles they won from 1989.However, the landscape of Scottish football is much changed in the years since and Souness believes his challenge was much easier than the one which greeted Warburton when he arrived last summer. Rangers players celebrate beating Peterhead at Hampden Souness said: Hes had a far more difficult job than I had. There were so many things that worked in our favour at the time, such as the problems English football had.We could match any one of the English team for their spending power. English teams were banned from Europe, so we had lots of things going for us. That job was a lot easier for me that it was for Mark taking over at Rangers this time.I think he deserves a great deal of credit. I dont know the guy but I sat next to him at Wembley for the Norwich-Middlesbrough play-off game. I spent maybe 10 minutes talking to him but found him to be a very impressive, calm, nice human being. Hes done a great job. Celtic manager Ronny Deila Sundays clash with Celtic at Hampden marks Warburtons first taste of a Glasgow derby but he has been keen to play down the games significance in the build-up.When told Warburton referred to Sundays game as just another match, Souness said: Really? Well it certainly isnt. Its the biggest derby Ive been involved in.The Liverpool-Everton one is a friendly derby. The Galatasaray one with Fenerbahce is a big game but it still doesnt come near this one. Leigh Griffiths scores in Celtics previous mmeeting with Rangers last season Nothing prepared me for the passion and the enormity of this job.ddddddddddddA lot of the enormity is in your own mind because you feed off the passion your supporters have for your football club. You absorb that and start to feel guilty when youve not done the best for them.So Mark must feel that. Hes been here long enough to realise what these two clubs mean to their supporters. Its greater here than anywhere else. And thats why its not just another derby.Celtic are currently eight points clear at the summit of the Scottish Premiership and on course to clinch their fifth successive title, but Souness predicts Rangers will give Ronny Deilas side a much closer examination than they managed in last years League Cup semi-final. Graeme Souness led Rangers to glory on and off the park Then a Gers team led by caretaker boss Kenny McDowall seemed relieved to escape Hampden after suffering just a 2-0 defeat.Celtic obviously start as the big favourites, Souness said at a press conference promoting Sundays semi-final.They play in the top league. The challenge for Rangers is to turn up and make a game of it. They didnt do that last year. Its the biggest derby Ive been involved in. The Liverpool-Everton one is a friendly derby. The Galatasaray one with Fenerbahce is a big game but it still doesnt come near this one. Graeme Souness Anything can happen in derbies but Celtic must start as the outstanding favourites. I want Rangers to do themselves justice.I would hope it would be closer this time. Rangers are better than they were last year. Are Celtic? Im not sure. Rangers certainly are but I dont think that means they are going to turn up and have an easy game.It will be difficult because Celtic are used to playing against better players every week, they are used to moving the ball quicker, having a quicker thought process. But its a derby game and Rangers have a big chance. This is not a foregone conclusion.Watch the Glasgow derby on Sky Sports 2 HD from 11am this Sunday.By purchasing a Sky Sports Day Pass for £6.99 or Sky Sports Week Pass for £10.99, you can enjoy access to all seven Sky Sports channels and watch on a TV with a NOW TV Box or on a range of devices.
