Matt Elliott admits Leicester Citys squad has not yet been fully tested as his former side continue their surprise push for a Premier League title. Claudio Ranieris side strengthened their grip at the top of the table with 13 games remaining after beating Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.Elliott, who made more than 200 appearances for the Foxes, says they now have a glorious chance to win the title but admits they will be relying on their key men - Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez - staying injury free. Martin ONeill and Elliott savour League Cup success in 2000 Speaking on Sky Sports Now, Elliott said: The reasons for believing they can do it are growing week by week as long as they keep churning out results and putting in performances like they have. Against Manchester City they were superb and dominated from the off. Its no flash-in-the-pan, people are realising that, and the doubters are diminishing week by week. Leicester WILL win it Leicester have the Premier League title in the bag according to Stuart Pearce There will be joyful scenes across the whole county if they do it. We had good times back in my day winning trophies but what this team is doing would surpass anything we achieved in our time. Just to get in contention for the Champions League spots is a miraculous achievement.Vardy and Mahrez are the two stars of the show but the supporting cast is not doing too bad either. Its imperative that those two stay fit and available. They tried to get in an extra forward during the window but failed, so fingers crossed that those two continue to produce the goods and the goals. Former Leicester defender Matt Elliott explains why they can upset the odds Leicester have been fortunate in comparison to some of their title rivals in terms of injuries and Elliott acknowledges that Ranieri will be praying that situation continues. The Foxes have suffered 15 injuries throughout the campaign compared to 51 of fourth-placed Manchester City. The squad has yet to be tested properly and there are some doubts about that but there is some quality on the bench, Elliott said. They have been through a lot together and came through the traumas of last season and I think they can come through again. Who saw Leicester City as Premier League title contenders? One man did and he could make £25,000 if they win. Robert Huths experience in the partnership with Wes Morgan has been vital and he has been scoring vital goals. Hes brought calmness and aggression to the team as well.Danny Drinkwater has been imperious plus NGolo Kante as well. They are the driving force but the whole team is getting stronger week by week. They have been through a pressure situation last season so that will stand them in good stead Also See: Ranieri: Dont look down!
